In 2012, a Tilapia nursery and grow-out (200 ton) system was delivered to Plantfarm in Dubai, a farm situated in a desert environment with brackish water.
The recirculation systems, including a highly intensive grow-out system with pure oxygen, were supplied by DAE member Aquaculture ID (then Fleuren & Nooijen). The Red NMT fingerlings and knowledge transfer regarding Tilapia farming was provided by DAE member Til-Aqua.
