For what purpose does Dutch Aquaculture Experts process personal data?

a. In order to be able to enter into a relationship with you
If you want to become a customer of one or more of our members or wish to purchase a new product or new service of one or more of our members, we require some personal data. We may need to perform a due diligence to assess whether we can accept you as a customer or provide you with credit, for instance. We may also use data on you obtained from others for this. From agencies that provide credit information, for example.

b. In order to maintain the relationship with you
If you are a customer of one or more of our members, we want to be able to be of service to you on an ongoing basis. We may process personal data for this purpose. We may use your name and address details to stay in contact with you, for instance. We also may make recordings, for instance, of telephone conversations, from cameras and from chat and app sessions. We do this to prevent crime and monitor quality or in the context of furnishing evidence in litigation, for instance.

c. To protect your and our interests
We may process personal data in order to protect your interests, our interests and the interests of our sector. To combat or investigate fraud, for instance.
We do that only if we have made agreements with these parties on the careful use of your data.

d. For the development and improvement of our products and services
In order to serve you well on an ongoing basis, we constantly work on developing and improving our products and services. In some cases, we process personal data for this. If you ask a question or lodge a complaint, for instance.

e. For promotional and marketing purposes
We may process your personal data for promotional and/or marketing purposes. To inform you about a new or improved product that may be of interest to you, for example. Or to better anticipate your wishes. We feel it is important and necessary that we have a good overview of our customer relationships. This includes knowing whether you work with other parties that could pose a risk. We process personal data in order to obtain this overview and subsequently take measures.

h. For archiving purposes
We collect no more personal data than is strictly necessary in the context of the purposes mentioned above. If we do not save the data for those purposes, we may still save this data for archiving purposes. Does Dutch Aquaculture Experts also process special personal data?

Special personal data is sensitive data. For instance, about a person’s health, criminal record, ethnic background, religion or philosophical beliefs, political preferences, sex life, trade union membership or citizen service number (BSN). We do not process this data.
We only process special personal data if we are required to do so on the basis of legislation, regulations or certification, with your permission, or if you ask us to do so. If you ask us to document special personal data on you or if you yourself make this data public, we process this data only if this is necessary for our business operations.

How does Dutch Aquaculture Experts handle my personal data?

Your personal data is stored carefully and kept for no longer than is strictly necessary for the purpose for which it has been processed. Within Dutch Aquaculture Experts, your personal data can only be used by board members who must have access to this data by virtue of their position.

Exchange of personal data within Dutch Aquaculture Experts

If we want to use data for a purpose other than that for which it was originally processed, we can only do so if there is an organisational connection between the two purposes. Your personal data may also be exchanged between members of Dutch Aquaculture Experts, but only if this is reconcilable with the purpose for which the data was collected.
